Work and Live in SA
"The first time we saw Adelaide I was here on holiday with my family and we simply fell in love. As we came off the freeway and drove down Mt Lofty we saw this beautiful city with lots of green spaces against the back drop of the beaches lining the Spencer Gulf. It was then we made the decision to take the big step of moving from Hastings to Adelaide. Twelve years on we have not once
regretted our decision to relocate to South Australia. My husband and our two children enjoy the laid back lifestyle, the restaurant and cafe culture, world class festivals and the broad range of recreational activities available.
For the past 11 years I have worked for ECH, starting as Director of Care at one of the care centres, and for the last 4 and a half years as General Manager Residential Care. ECH is progressive, committed to the quality care of the elderly and a great employer. I'm an example of how you can benefit from the support ECH provides to their employees.
I would be happy for Registered Nurses from New Zealand who are considering relocating themselves to contact me directly. I'm sure like me you won't regret choosing Adelaide, the secret city of Australia."

"Kia ora,
I’m Dean and I’m originally from the deep south in NZ. I moved to Adelaide in 2007 after spending five years in the UK with my then partner and now wife – she is an Adelaide girl and was keen to move home. I was a bit hesitant at the start about not only moving to Australia let alone Adelaide, with being a bit of a sports mad and proud kiwi.
Over the last four years I’ve started to call Adelaide home and really enjoy the variety of leisure and recreational activities that are available at my door step. From going right into the outback, going camping and exploring the flinders, taking a houseboat up the Murray River to tasting a variety of great wines at one of several wine areas across the state, there is plenty to see and do. For those of you from Christchurch, Adelaide was designed by the same person so the grid system with parks around the city centre is easy to navigate.
One of the biggest adjustments for me, coming from the deep south of NZ has been the hot summer weather that Adelaide experiences but to get 300 plus days of great weather, I can put up with 5-10 days of hot weather (Air-conditioners are a great help and so too are nicely chilled drinks). I enjoy rugby and there’s even a few places around town to watch games.
These South Aussies are a good bunch when you crack the surface. My family and I enjoy living in Adelaide and I would recommend anyone to come and experience it – I’m dead sure you’ll love it.
Haere rā."

"I have been in South Australia for 3 years now. The first time I flew into Adelaide and saw the Hills, City and the ocean I just knew I was going to love living here before the plane had even touched down. And that was on a cold winters day! Adelaide has numerous attributes and is one of the top ten cities in the world in which to live. I came here looking for somewhere different to work and found it without difficulty despite not knowing anyone.
I now live and work for ECH in beautiful Victor Harbor. ECH has expanded my career options and I am now working in an area I would not otherwise have considered. The organisation is very supportive , innovative and provide numerous educational opportunities for all of their staff.
I will always remain a proud Kiwi but South Australia is now my home.”
