ECH Health & Wellbeing Services provide a comprehensive range of allied health services via therapy services that:

  • assist older people to remain in their chosen environment within the community through the provision of appropriate therapy
  • support older people to better self-manage their health
  • assist older people to self-mangement of chronic conditions

Frequently treated conditions:

  • problems with activities of daily living
  • unsafe home environment
  • balance & risk of falls
  • strength & fitness
  • stiffness & mobility problems
  • self management of chronic conditions
  • pain management
  • bladder control
  • swallowing / communication issues
  • neurological conditions including stroke & Parkinson's disease
  • feet and lower limb problems

Cultural diversity

ECH Therapy Services are committed to meeting the needs of a culturally diverse community. Each Therapy Service is happy to arrange interpreter services during visits or telephone calls.

Access

Therapy Services is open to all older persons living in the community. Access to any of ECH's four Therapy Services may be via a referral from a doctor, allied health professional or community worker, or via self or family referral. In some instances, further medical information may be sought from a client's doctor. For referral information click on link (below) to your nearest centre.

Cost

ECH Therapy Services are funded through the Australian Department of Health and Ageing's Day Therapy Centre program. Fees are capped at a maximum of $20 per week and a fee reduction policy applies in special circumstances, so that no client will miss out on services because of cost.
