Information Sessions
Free and informal information sessions are held every second Tuesday of the month at our Head Office located at 174 Greenhill Road, Parkside. Reserve your place by phoning Reception on (08) 8407 5151.
Personal Interview
Personal interviews are conducted by our Accommodation Services Consultants following Information Sessions or by prior arrangement. During your interview you will have an opportunity to discuss your needs and location preferences. An application form is completed at the interview and a one-off administrative fee of $20 is payable at that time.
Registering with ECH
When you register with ECH your name is placed on a registration list. There is no minimum age requirement to place your name on our registration list. The earlier you register the more likely you are to obtain your first preference when it is time to move. You can choose which list you wish to be placed on to suit your particular needs, ‘Planning Ahead’ or ‘Ready to Move’.
(1) Ready to Move or Immediate Occupation – active list
ECH regularly has units available for immediate occupation (conditions apply). For further information phone Accommodation Services on (08) 8407 5151 to discuss your options. (2) Planning Ahead – non active list
When you are ready to consider an offer of a unit, you contact us and we will place your name on the ‘Ready to Move’ list in date order of your application date.
The Allocation Process
Units are offered in date order of registration, therefore planning ahead generally provides you with the unit and location of your choice.
Following the offer of a unit, you are invited to view the unit. If the unit is accepted by you, a sample set of documentation relating to the unit, is provided for you to peruse prior to completion of a Residence Agreement to occupy the unit. You will be required to pay a deposit of $2,000 upon signing of the Residence Agreement. No other payment is required until handover of the unit. Should you have a property to sell ECH allows up to 12 weeks for your current property to be sold.
Who is Eligible?
Residents of ECH independent living units are no longer in full-time employment, are self maintaining and able to live independently. The minimum age for residents is 65 years.
