Maintenance Services

ECH places great importance on the maintenance of our large portfolio of properties. Our independent living units and residential care centres are maintained under a planned maintenance programme. Residents are encouraged to request maintenance service as required. A priority response rating system is applied to all maintenance requests.

ECH Maintenance Services comprises a team of over 30 staff with a range of skills in the areas of buildings and grounds maintenance.

The weekly maintenance fee paid by all residents covers:

  • council rates
  • water rates and taxes
  • communal lighting
  • building insurance
  • unit maintenance - inside and out
  • regular painting
  • maintenance of all ECH supplied appliances
  • grounds maintenance including lawn cutting
  • 24 hour on-call emergency maintenance service
  • Independent Living Services works with residents to enhance their independence and link them to other community services as required.

Residents of independent living units are responsible for the cost of personal contents insurance as well as gas, electricity and telephone charges. Residents are encouraged to water lawns and gardens, and to tend garden areas if it is their interest.
