What is the current cost of an ECH Unit?

Are there any ongoing fees?
Enjoy a maintenance free lifestyle for a nominal cost of just $85.50 to $89 per week (depending on the size of your unit).
Are residents responsible for any payments other than maintenance fees?
Residents are responsible for paying for utilities such as gas, electricity and telephone accounts. Household contents insurance is also the responsibility of the resident.
Does ECH have an age criteria?
To become an ECH resident you need to be 65 years of age or over and no longer working full time. It is also important that you are able to live independently.
Does ECH have a pet policy?
Pets such as a small bird or fish are ideal choices for independent living units. In the interest of all residents, other pets are not suited to living within the ECH independent living unit environs.
Does ECH offer Community Services?
ECH offers a range of therapy services including allied health (such as physiotherapy and podiatry), health and wellbeing sessions (such as exercise classes), day programs for socialisation and carer respite and ‘packages of care’ to assist people if they need more assistance to be able to stay at home. ECH Community Services are offered in all metropolitan regions and in Victor Harbor.
What happens if I need residential care?
All residential care facilities are funded by the Commonwealth Government and operate under the same legislation as all other Commonwealth funded aged care providers. Where possible we will provide our independent living unit residents with preferential access to Residential Care, where they have a need equal to or higher than a person in the community.
Can I move into a unit now?
As units become available they are offered to those applicants who have advised us that they are “ready to move”. Please let us know when you are considering a move to ECH by nominating your preference on your registration form.
