As part of Active Ageing Week, The Hon. Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, visited ECH’s Henley Beach Wellness Centre and Crichton Court Village on October 2. This visit underscored his commitment to engaging with people living and working within the Hindmarsh constituency, where he has been an advocate for health and aged care policies.
Minister Butler was warmly welcomed by ECH clients and leadership, including Chair Rosina Hislop, Deputy Chair Cameron Bryson, Chair of Technology & Innovation Committee Loewn Steel, and Chief Executive Claire Scapinello. During his tour, he connected with clients attending fitness classes and those receiving allied health support to aid recovery from medical incidents.
At Crichton Court, an assisted living retirement village co-located with the Wellness Centre, residents showcased their homes and shared their positive experiences of the services provided by ECH. Minister Butler also spent time engaging with clients who participate in day programs specifically designed for people with dementia or memory loss.
This visit presented a valuable opportunity for the ECH leadership team to discuss future collaborations, with a shared focus on supporting older Australians to live independently, age well, and get MORE out of life.
