Are there times when you want someone to turn to for straightforward and factual advice? Someone who understands the different issues and concerns that can arise as you get older?

You might want information to assist you in planning for the future, or you could be in a crisis situation and need answers fast from someone who understands how stressful having to make important decisions quickly can be.

ECH can provide advice and support to you in many different areas, such as:

  • Perhaps you are in hospital and feeling pressured to move into residential care, and would like advice on the services you need to be able to stay at home with confidence. An ECH team member can visit you in hospital and talk to you about your options, as well as assist you in talking to your family about your decision.
  • Maybe you would like to expand your social networks and would like to know what opportunities there are to do volunteering, learn new skills or simply spend time with people who share your interests.
  • You might have started assisting your parents in planning for their future as they age, and would like to know more about the services available to assist them in staying in their own home or about ECH retirement villages.
  • Perhaps you have a diagnosis of dementia or are caring for someone who is living with dementia and would like to know about the programs and services available that are specifically designed for people who are experiencing dementia or memory loss. ECH is a dementia-friendly organisation and has a Dementia Project Manager to ensure all ECH staff are highly trained in working with people experiencing dementia and memory loss.

We are here to help

Have you heard the terms ACAT assessment, Consumer Directed Care (CDC), Regional Assessment Service (RAS) or My Aged Care and are unsure what they mean? Are you unclear about what services are available, how much they cost and whether you can get any subsidies or financial assistance? ECH can provide you with information on navigating the aged care system, advise you on the services available to you, and guide you through the process required to access them.  You are welcome to speak to one of our experienced team members over the phone or via email.
