You might be finding that taking care of the home and garden has become more challenging – perhaps housework is mounting up or the garden has become a little overgrown.
Maybe you would like some modifications, such as grab rails or access ramps, to make it safer for both you and the person you care for.
ECH offers an extensive range of services designed to support you in caring for another person so that they can remain living independently at home for as long as possible.
You can obtain assistance with household chores, such as washing clothes, dusting and cleaning bathrooms, or you might have a gardener come in to do those bigger jobs such as pruning and mowing the lawn.
ECH’s nursing team is available to assist with medication or wound management, dementia management, education and support for incontinence and also to conduct general health assessments. This service can provide you with a great deal of reassurance regarding the wellbeing of the person you care for.
If you would like to access respite care so that you can go out with family or friends, or even just spend some time on your own, ECH can provide someone who is trained and friendly to stay with the person you care for while you are away.
No matter your age, ECH services are available to you on a competitive fee for service basis. If you or the person you care for is aged 65 years or over, you both may qualify for the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), or a Home Care Package (HCP). You both may be able to use some of this funding to access ECH services to support you in and around your home, including respite.
Finding your way through all the options available to you and the person you care for, as well as the funding and subsidies available can be challenging. If you are not sure what the options are for you and the person you care for, or you would like to find out more about ECH services, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 1300 275 324 for a free, no-obligation chat.
