Using your goals, your ECH Physiotherapist will develop a care plan taking into account your health and lifestyle.

Your plan could include an exercise program to improve your strength, movement and flexibility or regular therapeutic massages to release tight muscles, relieve stress and promote relaxation. You will also have access to a range of physical therapy equipment if needed.

Your ECH Physiotherapist can also work closely with your GP and any of your other health practitioners to make sure you can achieve your goals. You do not need a referral from your doctor to access the services of an ECH Physiotherapist.

Ken cruising again after his stroke

Ken visits the ECH Wellness Centre at Victor Harbor three times a week to work on an exercise program developed by his ECH Physiotherapist.

“I have benefitted greatly from the program the staff have developed for me,” says Ken.

“They are very caring and encourage me. You can tell the staff are not there because it’s their job, it’s because they want to help people like me to lead a normal way of life.”

Ken’s health and mobility has improved so much that he was able to go on a cruise to New Zealand.

“We have been on a few cruises before, but after my stroke I didn’t think it would be possible to go and walk on the decks and go on tours,” says Ken. “With the help of ECH I was able to do that.”
