Advance Care Directive workshops
Completing an Advance Care Directive (ACD) can be challenging. Many people find it difficult and need support to discuss the issues and decisions required to complete the legal document.
Margaret Brown, Adjunct Research Fellow at UniSA, will facilitate three FREE workshops in two locations for people to learn about the ACD and discuss their concerns in a supportive environment. A light morning tea will also be provided at each session.
Workshop 1: Introduction to the principles of the Advance Care Directives Act 2013. These documents will be explained and the reasons why it is important for everyone to consider completing both.
Workshop 2: In this session we explore the issues associated with appointing a substitute decision-maker and how we might express our values and wishes on the Advance Directive form about our future health and personal care.
Workshop 3: The final session is an opportunity for people to clarify and express their concerns. Once the document is completed a Justice of the Peace will be available to witness the document. There will also be a photocopy machine to make copies of the completed form.
Please register by Friday, May 27.
