What role have trees played in your life?

Remember the ‘splash’ when you let go of the rope that hung from a tree on a riverbank? Maybe you planted a celebration tree in your backyard. Perhaps you found a good tree to cry next to. Was there a time when a tree caused all sorts of trouble?
Or a tree that led simply to jam!

Join storyteller and gatherer Helen Lawry for a four-session exploration of Tree Stories. Helen is a skilled workshop leader who will endeavour to make this a worthwhile and enjoyable experience for all.

The sessions will appeal to shy people and more outgoing folk, people who like facts and those who prefer fiction.

Discover traditional tree stories from the UK, China and Kazakhstan, shake the stories from your own memory tree and try planting your own tree story or poem.

This four-week journey includes an excursion to the Botanic Garden and culminates in a tree planting ceremony to be held later in the year.
