ECH offers a range of wellness classes and services that can enable you to take some time out for yourself. ECH Wellness Centres offer exercise classes where you can maintain or improve your fitness while socialising with others. Or if you prefer to exercise alone, you can use the gyms located at the Wellness Centre. Professional allied health therapists, including Physiotherapists, Podiatrists and Dieticians, are also available to provide advice about looking after yourself and the person you care for. What other services does ECH provide to support carers? ECH offers respite through Day Programs located at Smithfield, Walkerville, Happy Valley and Henley Beach. In-home Equipment

As you age, so too does your body.  Innovative equipment or technology can be another way to make your home more comfortable, safer and easier to get around, or simply make everyday tasks easier to do. Equipment such as grab rails or a ramp can make using and accessing your home safer and easier, while walking frames or canes can make getting out and about more enjoyable. An extensive range of devices are available that can make everyday tasks simpler such as modified eating utensils or aids to help you dress and put on shoes. Personal alerts can aid in calling for assistance should you be unable to get to the telephone, while new technology such as Billy can provide peace-of-mind through non-intrusive monitoring to detect changes to daily routines. All of this can be available through your home care provider or home care package as part of your home care services. Not sure what you need? A qualified ECH Physiotherapist, Podiatrist or Dietician can help you choose the best aids to meet your individual needs, taking into account any specific conditions you might have such as arthritis or vision impairment. ECH also has qualified Occupational Therapists who can help you in developing a holistic approach to remaining in your own home. After learning about your goals and lifestyle and conducting a full home safety assessment, ECH will provide you with a recommendation suggesting the most appropriate types of modifications, equipment and exercises for you to consider. ECH is available to support you to continue your medications at home by regularly reviewing your situation. Together with your GP, pharmacist and your other health professionals, the ECH home care team can work with you to keep track of your medication routine and identify where any adjustments can be made to further support your wellbeing. Social Visits

No doubt there are friends and family members you like to see as often as possible and activities you enjoy doing on a regular basis. However sometimes challenges can arise that get in the way of socialising and doing the activities you love to do.
