Providing care for a loved one is a deeply personal journey. Our support services allow you to be the best carer you can be.
Am I a Carer?
Identifying yourself as a carer can feel strange when you’re a family member or a friend.
However, adding a label to the role you play in your loved one’s life doesn’t have to change your relationship. Instead, the title of “Carer” acts to recognise the valuable support you provide.
Caring for someone may look like…
Trips to the grocery store for their weekly shop.
Helping them shower, dress or brush their hair.
Managing their medications and medical appointments.
Cleaning their home when it gets untidy.
Helping to wash and dry laundry.
Mowing the lawn and tending to an overgrown garden.
Preparing meals for your loved one.
Life as a Carer.
Here at ECH, we understand that caring for someone is not a simple job, nor is every day the same. With the added responsibility it is easy to lose sight of your own needs.
Finding the right balance between your personal needs and your loved one’s is essential to avoiding burnout, both mentally and physically.
Providing care can be demanding, ECH recognises the importance of your wellbeing and provide support in ways that suit yours and your loved one’s needs.
From daytime respite, homecare and wellness services we have a range of support, allowing you to be the best carer you can be.
Day Programs.
We offer Day Programs and Dementia Day Respite so you can enjoy some much-needed time, knowing your loved one is well cared for.
If you’re looking for a respite care option, our Day Programs and Dementia Day Respite are created to provide both an enjoyable and safe experience for your loved one, as well as the opportunity for you to take a well-earned break.
Our centres take on the role of caregiver for the day, so you can attend appointments, spend time with friends or simply press pause and take a moment for yourself.
Day Programs are welcoming for all; specifically developed for those who are socially isolated, the schedule considers your loved one’s interests, needs and abilities with their activities. We also offer Dementia Day Respite, like a Day Program, but tailored to the needs of those experiencing memory loss or Dementia. You can relax, knowing they are enjoying a warm and welcoming environment and cared for by professionals.
Our centres that offer Day Programs and Dementia Day Respite are conveniently located at Smithfield, Walkerville, Happy Valley and Henley Beach running Monday to Friday 9:30am-3:30pm.
