More respite support for caregivers
If you are caring for someone experiencing dementia or memory loss, ECH Day Programs offer the opportunity to take a well-earned break. The person you care for can attend the Day Program while you are at work or attending an appointment, taking some quality time for yourself or spending the day with family or friends.
ECH Day Programs are specifically designed to cater for people who may be experiencing dementia or memory loss. Experienced Centre staff ensure each individual’s interests and abilities are catered for and they provide personalised attention to ensure activities are meaningful to each person.
What happens at an ECH Respite Day Program?
ECH has four conveniently located Day Programs offering a range of activities such as gardening, arts and craft, billiards, cooking, music, dancing and gentle exercise programs. Day Programs also include regular day trips and visits from local school children and other community members. Attendees are provided with a nutritious lunch, morning and afternoon tea and snacks.
ECH Day Program Centres offer modern and comfortable homelike environments with space to engage socially with others and spaces where quiet alone time can be enjoyed.
The programs run Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 3.30pm (excluding Public Holidays) and include various outings across the week. Transport to and from the Day Programs may be arranged via an ECH bus or other modes of transport at an additional cost*.
